Word of the Day!

Thank you Jesus for all your blessings! Praise the Lord!
We give you all the glory! You are worthy to be praised!

Thank you for joining us today. If you are new to this blog, please take the time to post a comment on what you have read today and let us know what you think. We value your opinion. For those joining us who have followed us since the beginning, this blog is designed for Pastor Ed to give us the Word of the Day and share with us his teaching on the Word.

Hi everyone! How is everybody doing today? Wonderful I hope. Lets talk about hope and how it affects us spiritually. Have you ever hoped for that new job? Or maybe that new house with a picket fence and a wrap-around porch? Maybe you have desired a new car and keep praying that the money comes in and the bills get smaller so that you an afford that luxury. Hope is a basis for faith. We have to have hope in order to believe that these things come to pass. But to have hope in material possessions pales in comparison to the kind of hope that we place in our Lord and Savior Jesus. To have hope in that new job we must first believe that the idea is conceivable. Once we have conceived the idea that that new job could be in the future, it begins to form in the womb of our minds. Then it can be born and bear fruit in our lives. When we place our hope in the fact that the new car is coming, we begin to believe that it will come to light. However, sometimes we lose sight when it doesn't come right away. We begin to get down on ourselves and ask why me? Why can't this happen faster? Why can't I get that raise? I'm doing my job, I'm working hard; the boss should notice. Here lies the problem. We have begun to lose faith in the Lord. When this happens, we begin to harbor resentment and may even get mad at God cursing Him up and down the wall and begging for whatever it is we are after. This kind of attitude will get us nowhere fast.
We have to remember that God is a God of patience. Most of the time, we have to wait for the answer to come that we are seeking after. This builds hope. If we wait fervently on Him, He will always come through. It may not be exactly what you want, but it will always be everything you need at the time. We must not lose our ability to focus on God. When we keep our hope in Him, it will build faith. If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it will remove; and nothing will be impossible for you. Matthew 17:20 Once we have established our faith in Him, He will always provide, but we must continue to wait patiently in Him. To hope in our Lord, is to say, "Yes Lord, I place my trust in You." "Yes, God, I will wait for You." "Yes, Jesus, I will tuck my hope in You." To hope in our Lord is to place all of our trust in Him, knowing He will provide that good and acceptable thing unto us if we continue to trust in Him. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we will reap if we faint not. Galatians 6:9 Remember that in order for God to work in our lives and produce good fruit, we must be willing to place all of our hope, all of our faith, all our trust in Him and He will most certainly provide for us our every need. So, don't get upset when you don't get that new car, there's another one that God has picked out for you, it's just not here yet, we must wait on Him. Don't get mad when you don't get that new job you really have been wanting, there's another one more suitable for you around the corner. And if you don't get that raise, that's o.k. too, because God has you right where He wants you right now. It may be difficult to see the outcome, but God always knows what's best for us. Place your hope in Him and you will be surprised at what God has in store for you, if we just place our faith and trust in Him.

We like to close every Word of the Day by making sure you have the opportunity to ask Jesus in your heart.
So please, pray, Lord Jesus, I accept that you were born of a virgin, died on the cross and shed your blood for my sins to be forgiven and rose again to be Lord and King. I repent of my sins and ask that you come into my life and be Lord and Savior and live in my heart.
Amen
Friends, if you just prayed this prayer, you are born again, and may I pray that you grow in your walk with Jesus and develop an intimate relationship with Him.

Thank you for joining us and please come back everyday for a new Word of the Day.

Sincerely,
Pastor Ed
